13.8 Biomass Weight and K Uptake by Tea Plants
Biomass weight of tea plants was varied due to application of different treatments
(Fig. 13.10). Average biomass weight of tea plants of T 0 treatment was 4.05 Æ 0.36 g
(n ¼ 3). Vermicompost application increased biomass weight (5.11 Æ 0.20) of tea
plants; however, the increase was not statistically significant as compared to that of
T 0 treatment. Application of mica waste in combination with vermicompost significantly increased biomass weight of tea plants (Fig. 13.10).
Total K content in tea plants ranged within 1.06–1.19 mg g
À1 and did not vary
among the treatments. Potassium uptake in tea plants was 4.68 Æ 0.69 mg plant
