Note Dimethyl disulfide and trimethylamine were not detected during mechanical separation and
biological pre-treatment, Therefore, the odorous gas removed by using the biofilter did not include
dimethyl disulfide and trimethylamine
than 10%. After the composting lasted for 13 days, the GI of the inoculated group
was up to 111% while that of alkalified group was about 40%. It can be seen that the
inoculated group satisfied the harmless standard after being composted for 5 days and
mature after being composted for 8 days. The aforementioned result indicated that
inoculating acidification-resistant complex microbial inoculants can greatly speed
up the humification process, improve the composting efficiency of kitchen wastes
and shorten the composting period to 8 days (Fig. 3.14).
