Abstract
Bluefin tuna is a migratory species of high economic value, and supports major fisheries around
the world, particularly in the Mediterranean. It occupies an important place in the marine
ecosystem, and its distribution is influenced by a number of environmental factors. Geographic
information systems represent an innovative approach to spatializing information in the field of
ecology in general, and marine ecology in particular.
Our study therefore aims to use GIS to assess the distribution of bluefin tuna in interaction with
environmental factors in the Algerian basin over the two decades from 2000 to 2019.

Résumé
Le thon rouge est une espèce migratrice de haute valeur économique d’ailleurs soutient
d'importantes pêcheries dans le monde, en particulier dans la méditerranée. Il occupe une place
importante dans l’écosystème marin, sa distribution est influencée par plusieurs facteurs
environnementaux. Les systèmes d’information géographique constituent une approche innovante
pour la spatialisation de l’information dans le domaine de l’écologie en général, en particulier dans
le domaine marine
Notre étude vise donc à l’utilisation du SIG pour évaluer la distribution du thon rouge en
interaction avec les facteurs environnementaux dans le bassin algérien durant les deux décennies,
de 2000 à 2019.
