In order to prove the proposed method, a comparison is made between two biological treatments
used during secondary wastewater treatment processes:
 Biological treatment using microalgae: An innovative method
proposed in this study.
 Biological treatment using activated sludge: A conventional method
widely used in wastewater treatment plants.
The criteria for comparing the two treatment processes are summarized in the following table :
