- The first part of the research, where modelling is involved, consists of studying the annual
hydrosedimentary dynamics as well as the seasonal variation. The combination of the SWAN
model with empirical formulae will allow defining the magnitudes of the sedimentary
transport rate for the different sea states defined by the morphological swell height.
- The second part aims to study the morpho-sedimentary dynamics during exceptional events
produced during the last 30 years; this study gathers a 2DH study on the Mike21 coupled
model whose SW module was calibrated with respect to a 1995 mooring having recorded a
storm with a return period of five-year. The results obtained were extracted for a 2 DV study
on the Petra model of the SMC software, in order to view the variations in swell, current and
beach profile during the storm event.
