processes caused by the action of wind such as ; erosion ,
transportation and deposition of sediments…….
Aquifers : (in French : un aquifère ) a layer of soil that can absorb
water.
Backshore zone : (in French : l’arrière –plage ) is landward of the
nearshore zone.
Beach : (in French : plage ) an area of sand or small stones near
the sea.
Berm : ( in French : une berme ) : a narrow raised area of sand
formed on a beach by the action of waves.
Biogenous : ( in French :Biogène) : composed of the remains of
living organisms.
Boulder : (in French : une roche ) : very large rock.
Breaker zone : ( in French :la zone de surf) : is the zone where
waves break ,it is also called the surf zone.
Calcium carbonate : sym CaCO3 :( in French :le carbonate de
calcium ) : a white solid substance that exists naturally as : Chalk
,limestone and marble.
Clay : (in French argile) : a heavy sticky earth that becomes hard
when it is baked.
Cliff : (in French : une fallaise) : a high area of rock with a very
steepy side , often at the edge of the sea or ocean.
Colloid : (in French : un colloide ) :very small , tiny grains of
sediments.
Continental shelf : ( in French : le plateau continental ) : the edge
of continent that lies under the surface of water .
Compacted sediment : ( in French : sediment compacté) : the
process by which sediments form sedimentary rock.
Current : ( in French : le courant ) : the movement of water in the
sea or a river , the movement of air in a particular direction .
