The IPCC (intergovernmental panel on climate change ) best estimate
scenario predicts sea level rise from a base of 1990 of about 0.5 m by
2100 with a range of 0.11 to 0.77 . This estimate is much more
conservative than the estimates made in the early 1980s which ranged
above 3m.
