Maximum Number of Slides Allowed? Use Animations!
Limits on the number of slides are sometimes imposed to ensure that presentations
remain short and quick. I find this ridiculous. If there is to be a time limit, it should
really be expressed as a time limit, not as a slide number limit!
There exist some rules of thumb (e.g. 1–2 min per slide) which truly apply to
slides filled with text (a very bad idea). Effective presentations are likely to include
a large number of slides, some of them flashed for just a few seconds, especially if
animations are involved (see Option 1 animations, Sect. 3.2).
But if you are restricted to using just a limited number of slides and you can’t argue
with the conference organizers, then at the very least, “cheat the system”. Use a ton of
animations! Some of these animations could involve having elements disappearing,
leaving room for other elements to appear on the same slide. See the example below.
