1 Summary of Elasticity Theory: Basic Concepts
The same concept can be formulated as the following principle proposed by
Saint-Venant:
statically equivalent forces distributed in various ways in a relatively small area of the body
cause stresses insignificantly different when distancing from the loaded area for the distance
of the order of the maximum size of this area.
