2.1 Gridded Datasets
A total number of 08 datasets were considered for comparison by Kanda et al.
(2019). A brief introduction (data availability, spatial and temporal resolutions)
about the datasets is given in Table 1. The data access links for different datasets
used in the study are as below:
(i) Tropical Rainfall Measuring Mission (TRMM) Multi-Satellite Precipitation
Analysis TMPA) (Huffman et al. 2007): http://disc.sci.gsfc.nasa.gov.
(ii) Asian Precipitation Highly-resolved Observational Data Integration towards
Evaluation of Water Resources (APHRODITE) (Yatagai et al. 2012): http://
www.chikyu.ac.jp/precip.
(iii) Average temperature and total precipitation information from University of
Delaware (UDEL) (Willmott and Matsuura 2001): https://www.esrl.noaa.
gov/psd/data/gridded/data.UDel_AirT_Precip.html
(iv) The latest version of the Climate Research Unit Time-Series (CRU-TS) (ver.
4.10) dataset from the University of East Anglia (Mitchell and Jones 2005):

(S1–S23) established by SASE. Observatories S1, S2, S5–S9 belong to LH, S3, S4 and S10 belong
to GH and S11–S23 represent KH climatology
