crevasses in the glaciers and therefore it is guided by the stress pattern in the glaciers
and Polar ice sheets.
6 Conclusions
A detailed investigation was carried out in the study area lying to the south of the
eastern part of the Schirmacher Oasis. Elevation, Surface slope, Ice thickness,
Bedrock elevation, Bedrock slope and the stress maps were prepared for the study
area. The orientation and intensity of the crevasses occurring to the south of the
Schirmacher Oasis was prepared and its nature with the stress pattern was studies.
Under the impending climate change, the nature of the glaciers and Polar ice sheet
is expressed in the form of the orientation and intensity of the crevasses in the glaciers. It has a direct bearing on the stress pattern in the glaciers and Polar ice sheets.
