constriction mechanism most effectively with TiO 2 and ZnO flux system using a

4 Future Scope of Work
Authors are planning to publish a detailed work on as-weld condition and post-weld
heat treatment (PWHT) microstructure studies in part 2 of this paper.
5 Conclusion
The performance of three different variants of the activated TIG process on P91 steel
for enhanced welding behaviour was analysed, and the following conclusions were
made:
1. Full-depth of penetration (Dp), approximately 6 mm, was noted in the most
novel variant FZ-TIG (with TiO 2 and ZnO combinations) and is followed by ATIG; approximately, 4 mm and very poor and similar values of weld penetration
approximately 3 mm were observed between FB-TIG (with TiO 2 flux) and NTIG.
2. Bead width (Bw) was noted lowest in FZ-TIG and highest in FB-TIG,
approximately 4 mm and 7 mm, respectively.
