7.2 Exploratory Cognition of Flight
Through the deepening of the understanding of the attributes of force,
humans have moved from fantasy to practice. In order to fly, first of all, there
must be a lifting force acting on the aircraft (also called lift in aerodynamics)
to overcome gravity. As mentioned earlier, balloon rising to the sky is the
simplest example of the balance between lift and gravity. Knowing this principle, early aircraft such as Kongming lanterns, kites, bamboo dragonflies,
