6 Wind and Water Tunnel Equipment

25 rotor blades, 26 static blades, and 24 import upgrade pieces. The
rotor blades are made of fabricated fiberglass-reinforced plastic. The
compressor speed range is 60−600 rpm. The maximum speed (rated
speed) for nitrogen operation at low temperature is 360 rpm, and the
maximum speed for normal temperature air operation is 600 rpm.
During the operation of the wind tunnel, the strategy of flow adjustment is adjusting the speed for coarse, fan front guide plate for fine
adjustment. The Ma number adjustment accuracy of the test section
is 1/1000. In order to refine the Ma number control, the required
compression ratio can be obtained by changing the inlet deflector to
maintain the Mach number required in the test section. In order to
shorten the length of the long shaft of the driving compressor hub, the
rectifier hood of the compressor makes a turn at the second corner and
extends to the space between the first and second corner. At the same
time, in order to reduce the aeroacoustic noise of the compressor, the
sound liner is installed at the compressor fairing.
(2) European transonic wind tunnel (ETW)
The European Transonic Wind Tunnel (ETW) is also a single-loop,
continuous, low-temperature pressurized wind tunnel driven by an
axial flow compressor, built in 1993 (as shown in Figs. 6.52, 6.53,
6.54, 6.55, 6.56, 6.57 and 6.58). The wind tunnel test section parameters such as total temperature, total pressure, and fan speed can be
independently controlled, so as to study the Ma number (compression), the Re number (viscosity), and aeroelastic (dynamic pressure)
