3.9.3 Lubrication and Hydraulic Transmission
Lubrication and hydraulic transmission in mechanical engineering is one of
the research topics of fluid dynamics (as shown in Fig. 3.112). Lubrication
is an important part of tribology research. Improving the friction state is a
technical measure to reduce friction resistance and slow down wear. Lubrication is generally achieved through lubricants. In addition, the lubricant also
has the functions of rust prevention, vibration reduction, sealing, and power
transmission. Making full use of modern lubrication technology can significantly improve the performance and life of the machine and reduce energy
consumption.
