Fig. 3.13 Significant pressures on surface water bodies length (a) and the failing to achieved
good chemical status (b) on National subdistricts (P0—no significant anthropogenic sources; P1—
point sources; P2—diffuse sources; P4—hydromorphology; P7—anthropogenic pressure-other;
P8—anthropogenic pressure-unknown)
The examination of the Tamiš River water quality reveal that certain improvements
in water quality have been achieved, but this is not enough to update the classification
of Tamiš along its course into the good class, which is suitable for bathing, recreation
and water sports [4].
In some rural area for drinking water, the exceedings were recorded in the case of
pH, TDS, DO, turbidity, Na
+ , K
+ , Ca
2+ , F
− , NO 2
− , SO 4
2− , Fe and Pb. The continuous
consumption of drinking water from these sources may be associated with symptoms
such as nausea, cramps, diarrhea and headaches [50, 112, 114, 115, 153, 155, 164]
(Figs. 3.14, 3.15, 3.16, 3.17 and 3.18).
