greater organic compatibility. Silanol is terminated into polydimethylsiloxanes,
reacts with siloxanes to produce foam like silicone materials. In the presence of
oxygen and moisture influences the crosslink density and foam structure. The intrinsic purity and favorable toxicological profile make them a suitable candidate for
different medical applications. Currently available data indicates that the silicones
do not accumulate in the environment and their decomposition does not result in
toxic waste. Finally, silicones offer substantial benefits for the study of tubes during
cardiac surgery.
Acknowledgments Authors would like to acknowledge the Government of West Bengal for
research facilities provided in both the education institute. Dr. Majumdar is thankful to the Hon’ble
Vice Chancellor of the University of Gour Banga for providing research fund.
Conflicts of Interest The authors declare no conflict of interest.
