Janaína Ferreira Guidolini is currently a Ph.D. student in Terrestrial System Science by the
National Institute for Space Research. Has a degree in Agronomy (2013) and Environmental Management (2009) by the Federal Institute of Triângulo Mineiro—Uberaba-MG Campus. Master’s
degree in Agronomy (Soil Science) by the Paulista State University “Júlio de Mesquita Filho”—
Campus Jaboticabal-SP (2015). She acts mainly in the areas of sustainable management of hydrographic basins, soil and water management and conservation, and geoprocessing.
Angelica Giarolla received her M.Sc. in Agricultural Physics and Meteorology from the University of São Paulo (1998) and her Ph.D. in Agricultural Engineering from the State University of
Campinas (2003). She is currently a Senior Researcher at the Brazilian Institute of Space Research
(INPE), Earth System Science Center (CCST). She has experience in Agronomy, with emphasis
on Agrometeorology. Dr. Giarolla has interests mainly on the research topics: agrometeorological
modeling for crop yield, soil erosion modeling, land use modeling on soil degradation and impacts
on food security and Indicators of Sustainability. She also teaches classes on Soil Conservation
and its importance for Biodiversity.
Gustavo Felipe Balué Arcoverde is employee of the Center for Science of the Terrestrial System (CSTS) of the National Institute for Space Research (NISR) since 2015 and has worked with
indicators of sustainability and climatic impacts, hydro-vegetative resilience and land use modeling. He is currently working formally on three CSTS projects: (a) Transition to sustainability
and the water-agriculture-energy nexus: exploring an integrative approach with case studies in the
Cerrado and Caatinga biomes; (b) Water resources in the Paraíba do Sul Basin: integrating natural
and anthropic aspects; (c) Brazilian System of Monitoring and Observation of Impact of Climate
Change—Sismoi.
Evandro Albiach Branco is an architect, urbanist and environmental manager, with masters
degree in Complex System Modelling from University of São Paulo in 2012. He is preparing
his doctorate in Environmental Sciences at the same university, with a thesis in spatial dynamics in areas affected by large hydropower dams in Amazon. He joined the Earth System Science Center of the National Institute for Spatial Research as a researcher, working with human
dimensions of global environmental changes, transitions for sustainability, construction of indicators, network analysis, participatory processes, water resources management, environmental governance and public policies analysis.
