In addition, in some cases there was a low return of respondents, which raises the
question as to the extent to which the findings of these studies can be generalized
to entire populations. Another limitation found in these studies was the use of measurement of behavior based on self-reporting. Research based on self-reporting may
present biases as to the trustworthiness of responses, once people tend to present
response that is compatible with the research’s intention, due to the individuals concern with people’s judgement of their behavior.
