Table 4.13 also showed that the traditional cultivation of sugar beet attained
the lowest average national water productivity, namely 5.1  kg/ha. Raised beds
cultivation and the saved water used to cultivate new areas to increase total production attained the highest water productivity for sugar beet.
Table 4.13 also indicated that the highest water productivity was attained in Giza
governorate as a result of high productivity per hectare in the new lands. It can be
also noticed that water productivity values in Marsa Matrouh were similar under all
