About the Editor
Yiyang Dong obtained his bachelor’s degree in chemistry in 1989 from East China
Normal University, where he got fundamental chemistry knowledge. He then went
on to pursue his postgraduate study in Nankai University and got his master’s degree
in chromatographic science of analytical chemistry. In 1995, he went to Peking
University to investigate chiral drug separation using capillary electrophoresis and
obtained a doctorate of philosophy in 1998. He also carried out a post-doctoral
research under the advisorship of Professor Takehiko Kitamori in the University
of Tokyo, Japan to study micro/nanofluidics with related miniaturized bioanalytical
techniques for various applications.
In early 2012, he joined Beijing University of Chemical Technology (BUCT) as
a full professor of chemistry by a talent program and set up a research laboratory
for frontier bioanalysis, where he developed successively several highly sensitive
and selective aptamer-based biosensing and bioanalytical methodologies for fast and
quantitative identification of some small molecular antibiotics, β-adrenoceptor antagonists, and biotoxins. In 2018, he edited and published a monographic book entitled
Aptamers for Analytical Applications-Affinity Acquisition and Method Design (Print
ISBN: 978-3-527-34267-9) with Wiley-VCH Verlag GmbH & Co.
Recent years have witnessed a broad utilization of aptamer-based researches in
medical science and practice, to introduce aptamers for potential applications in
clinical diagnosis and precise therapeutics, he is therefore pleased to be the editor of
this book and feels happy to share with the audience the state of the art.
