by MALDI-ToF. Consequently, the mass spectra observed
mostly consist of proteins.
2. Late exponential phase cultures of Leptospira are usually in the
range 1–3 Â 10
8 cells/mL. This corresponds to 5–7-day-old
culture for most leptospires.
3. At this step, the procedure can be stopped for delayed analysis.
