F/Stop 8.
(c) Field of view ¼ D (see Note 4).
(d) Overlay and alignment grid.
4. Prepare the imaging platform within the IVIS spectrum. Place a
thick black paper sheet on the imaging tray. Clean transparent
nose cones and dividers with 70% ethanol, dry, and insert the
nose cones into the anesthesia manifold (see Note 5).
5. Start the anesthesia system by opening the oxygen (O 2 ) supply
and set a 1.5% flow rate. Check the level of isoflurane available,
open and set the system to deliver a constant 2.5% flow per
minute to the induction chamber.
6. Turn on anesthesia to the IVIS spectrum.
Fig. 3 Ear tag identification. Make one short cut on the right ear to start with the mouse identified as No. 1, one
cut on the left ear for No. 2. Mouse No. 3 will have a cut on each ear, No. 4 two cuts on the right ear, while
mouse No. 5 will have no cut
