From that pivotal nexus of connected life forms and thought emerges targeted
consciousness whose ever emergent modes of being bear witness to every layer of
evolution and to its ontological offspring among all affected species. That continuous Being within whose self-reflections, all semiotic transmission is accorded a community of Others is not indifferent to subatomic patterns, both local and non- local
drift, variations in their genetic frequencies varying across all boundaries of thought.
Unstoppable emancipations beholden to no one individual. Of course, we can’t know
this because knowledge herself is caught within that perpetuity, as William Butler
Yeats intimated when he declared, “How can we know the dancer from the dance?”

Such consciousness is neither the ocean nor the grain of sand. We cannot trace it in the
manner, say, of an anadromous salmon angling upstream to its birthplace, there to mate
and ceaselessly create in its own image. The circuitry of moving, biochemical parts,
like cations and anions, or the unrehearsed dissolved particles in xylem and phloem,
sieve-tube chains, tracheids and plasmodesmata, all of the gravitationally oriented
organelles and vessel elements that comprise the lignited tissues of nearly 391,000+

plant species throughout the world, can be described as altruistic or self-motivated. We
cannot know, not through our own lens, nor those we improvise (Fig. 89.1).
Rather than untangling this multidimensionality, one Other is more apt to revel
in the heterophenomenology of yet Another, and another still… until the endless
continued fraction (such as π) instills the loyalty whose common denominator is
that ethos which precedes our concepts of biodiversity. We have never found the
