77.4 Merging the Imagination with a Probability Event
Any human, with even the slightest effort, should be capable of deep empathy.
That would include actually merging one’s imagination with a probability event,
as well as another’s projected needs, hence—a category inviting the similitude of
Selves throughout the biosphere. It is likely that such kin altruism, taken to a level
of universality, will necessarily encounter what, in mathematical parlance, equivocates around such manipulations as multiple regression (a multitude of independent
variables including the interaction effects of more than two variables); the presence of predicted and residual values; varying scales of measurement between the
identity of that personage with whom one identifies; and the qualified magnitude
of an impact upon that individual. As for a reasonable picture, one turns away from
precision toward the vague, as earlier indicated, in terms of opening biological
pathways that may engender latitude in evolution and natural selection. This turning away, the transition of all transitions, is ecological to the core. Its paradoxical
relation to a life form is paramount in as much as two, as earlier suggested, does
not add up to one plus one. There are far more, subtler variables involved than the
human imagination is heir to.
There is little likelihood of an infinity of gradations, logarithmic functions, equations, or differentiations, giving specificity to any one individual. It is far more
complicated than that. We may assume that this turning away abets identification of
separate biographies across the wide human historical enterprise to understand life.
When Amsterdam apothecary Albertus Seba (1665–1736) sold his first enormous
collection of “curiosities” to the Russian Czar Peter the Great in 1717, what, precisely, was at the crux of his zealous transaction? According to one inventory, “72
drawers full of shells, 32 drawers displaying 1,000 European insects, and 400 jars
of animal specimens preserved in alcohol”.

In much more gravid perspective, more
leader Quasem Soleimani’s assassination and the event’s subsequent to its fallout plays precisely
into the historic manifestation of the Dempster-Shafer Theory collating combinatorial masses,
subjective beliefs, distributions, properties, measures and half-truths, degrees of confidence, false
dichotomies and informal fallacies. See Dempster, A. P. (1967). “Upper and lower probabilities
induced by a multivalued mapping”. The Annals of Mathematical Statistics. 38 (2): 325–339.

pp.15–16. How would such a cabinet of dead individuals figure in mathematical configuration?
Abstruse transpose and square matrices, vectors, row and reduced row echelon forms; post-Gaussian elimination; a series of linear algebraic matrix retooling, all confounding probability theory
and the difficulties of thinking about just what is possible in life, as in death, based upon exoskeletons and so many bits and pieces of death. Such mathematics cannot correlate with living beings.
This analogy goes to the core of the human inability to find correspondence with extinctions, or
even, by implication, to work backwards from extinction to the living and attempt to gauge cause
and effect in all its daily subtleties and cumulative stress. No combination of scientific and mathematical disciplines can account for actual living substance.
