50.2 For Itself
That reality (the continuing challenge model)—beyond the debates over the
extent, efficacy or meaning of consciousness—is subject to and invokes the Null
Hypothesis (H 0 ) of non-relational entities, often utilized in medical testing, randomized placebo- controlled double-blind trials, exact, inexact, point, and composite hypotheses, among many other applications, all seeking precise parameter
values

which coincide with biological determinism. V-shaped, U-shaped,
W-shaped recoils, some of the comebacks from near-nullity that economists
employ to characterize and project future prospects, even and uneven shocks, are
all probability values. We can prove by small margins of error any number of
global depredations, pollution, slaughterhouse attrition, poaching, every form of
cruelty, and extinction, but also evolutionary occurrences, even patterns of sedimentation, the laying down over epochs of fossils, and the variance in dancing
bumblebees. Frankly, our application of composite hypotheses to probability
models reads as very good fiction, even while the underlying protagonists of such
drama are representational of other protagonists. Together, they add up to whatever, whoever we want them to be.
These are nullities within mathematical certainty. Absolute zeros where human
attribution is entirely subjective. We can equally attribute “success” in the form of
progress where Pp (positive progress) is “greater” than zero, or nullity, or D
(decline). These arbitrary attributions, when fitted in the library of eventual equations, can be viewed under the observational acuities of incremental change, which
is the argument for theoretical ecology, and by correspondence, consciousness that
avows Being, and supports it to the extent of both acknowledging and advocating
for, biodiversity and non-violence.
50.3 The Marriage of Consciousness and the Biosphere
Just as catechisms in Catholicism can issue Declarations of Nullity (pertaining to
marriage),

the marriage of consciousness and the biosphere argues for a reckoning that, to date, knows no other formulas than those embedded, somehow (a
genetic and/or spiritual conundrum) in the conscience. The megatonnage of our
physical throw-weight makes our specific, species-wide proclivities for conscience
