went for between one and 3 days with zero reliance on coal for its electricity, the
first time since the Industrial Revolution began

Perhaps, as the world convulses, the Grampians, as viewed by Gilpin, Robson,
and so many others, will remain tranquil, intact, free of revolution, famine, and
other, as yet uncharacterized catastrophes. Perhaps not (Fig. 20.2).
