Alliances in the Anthropocene: Fire, Plants and People (2020) and Gender
and Wildfire: Landscapes of Uncertainty (2014). Dr. Eriksen joined the
Center for Security Studies at ETH Zürich, Switzerland in August 2020.
Prior to that, she worked for 13 years as an academic at the University of
Wollongong, Australia. Her work has focused on case studies in multiple
countries and continents, including Australia, North America, Europe,
and Africa.
Shaun French, PhD, is an Associate Professor in Economic Geography
at the University of Nottingham. He focuses on the geographies of
economic practice and knowledge, specifically financial services and
money, socially responsible investment, and financial centres. As part
of the University’s Rights Lab, he is developing new work on debt,
vulnerability, and anti-money laundering.
Kevin Grove, PhD, is an Associate Professor of Geography at Florida
International University. His research explores the politics of disaster
management and resilience in the Caribbean and North American cities.
His work has been published in a variety of academic journals, including
the Annals of the American Association of Geographers, Environment
and Planning D: Society and Space, Progress in Human Geography,
and Security Dialogue, and he is the author most recently of Resilience
(Routledge) and co-editor (along with David Chandler and Stephanie
Wakefield) of Resilience in the Anthropocene: Governance and Politics at
the End of the World (Routledge).
Olli Hasu is a doctoral student at Tampere University, Finland. His
work focuses on climate change, the infrastructure character of new
information technologies, and index insurance.
Mark Kammerbauer’s, PhD, field of expertise covers risk and resilience
in the built environment under consideration of socio-cultural issues,
governance, and vulnerability. Over the past 15 years, he has researched
cases of disaster recovery and reconstruction in the United States,
Germany, Australia, and the Philippines. Mark held research and
teaching positions at international higher learning institutions, including
the University of Queensland School of Geography, Planning and
Environmental Management, Lund University Centre for Sustainability
Studies, Tulane University Center for Bioenvironmental Research, and
Technische Universität München. Mark is the Director of Nexialist
Agency for Research and Communication and writes regularly for urban
planning, urban design, and architecture publications.
Ken Klein, PhD, is the Lewis and Hermione Brown Professor of Law at
California Western School of Law. A wildfire survivor himself, he teaches
and publishes on insurance issues arising in the wake of natural disasters.
He is a consumer representative to the National Association of Insurance
