Dorothy Sutherland Olsen received her PhD in 2013 from the faculty of
Educational Science at the University of Oslo and, since 2010, has been a
Senior Researcher at the Nordic Institute for Studies in Innovation,
Research and Education (NIFU). Her current research is principally related
to studies of adult learning and innovation. In the SusValueWaste project she
has primarily worked on the interdisciplinary character of bioeconomy
research and on the aquaculture case study. She is currently working on a
project exploring the relationship between learning and innovation and leading a project on competence development among older workers in Norway.
Dorothy has led many projects both in research and within business. In her
research she primarily uses qualitative methods such as interviews, observations, document analysis, workshops and focus group interviews.
Kristoffer Rørstad is a Senior Adviser at the Nordic Institute for Studies in
Innovation, Research and Education (NIFU), with a cand. scient. in
chemistry from the University of Bergen (1998). Rørstad has 16 years of
experience, including production of the national R&D statistics and
mapping of R&D in thematic areas of high priority in Norway (climate
and environmental research, agriculture and food and polar research). In
addition, he has bibliometric competence and has conducted several
bibliometric analyses related to different projects, resulting in a number of
scientific articles.
Hilde Ness Sandvold is a PostDoc at Stavanger Business School, Centre for
Innovation Research, University of Stavanger. She is an economist and
holds a PhD in Industrial Economy. She has co- authored papers within
productivity and efficiency analysis related to the seafood industry, and
currently participates as a researcher in several ongoing externally funded
projects (Norwegian Research Council and EU).
Lisa Scordato is a Senior Adviser at the Nordic Institute for Studies in
Innovation, Research and Education (NIFU) and has worked there since
2007. She received her MSc in Political Science from the University of
Linköping in Sweden (1999–2005). From 2004 to 2006 she worked as a
policy analyst at the Swedish Institute for Growth Policy Studies, Brussels,
Belgium. She has over 10 years of in- depth experience in the analysis of
innovation and research policies and in studies of research and innovation
policy in Norway, other Nordic countries and wider Europe. In the SusValueWaste project she has been the co- leader of the work package on
bioeconomy policies and regulations. She has authored a number of scientific articles on the bioeconomy.
Eili Skrivervik is a PhD candidate at TIK (Centre for Technology, Innovation and Culture) at the University of Oslo. Prior to her PhD, she worked
at the University of Oslo as a Research Assistant where she wrote a
TIK working paper entitled “The bioeconomy and food waste: Insects’ contribution” (2018) and a research dissemination article entitled “Innovation
