5.5 Conclusion
The standards on the modeling, classification, description, discovery, and dissemination of the agricultural science data plays an important role to ensure the quality of,
interoperability between, and easy access to the agricultural data that are independently collected, processed, and shared in each nation, state, county, or even city.
They are usually developed through a consensus approach. The ISO, OGC, and FAO
are the major international standard organization that have published standards on
data content, metadata, and a variety of data services, including the Catalogue
Service, WMS, WFS, and WCS. Further customization and extension of these public
standards to meet new needs are always needed.
