catalase (ADC) supplement and then sterile-filter, or first autoclave at 121
C for 10 min, allow to cool to room temperature,
and then aseptically add 100 mL of ADC supplement. Store at
4
C.
3. 1Â phosphate-buffered saline (1Â PBS): In a clean 2 L
graduated beaker, add 8 g NaCl, 0.2 g KCl, 1.44 g
Na 2 HPO 4 , and 0.24 g KH 2 PO 4 . Add 800 mL of ultrapure
water and stir to dissolve. Adjust the pH to 7.4 using HCl. Add
ultrapure water to a final volume of 1 L. Sterile-filter and store
at 4
C.
4. 0.5% bovine serum albumin in 1Â PBS (PBSB): Dissolve 0.5 g
of bovine serum albumin in 100 mL of 1Â PBS, sterile-filter,
and store at 4
C.
5. 4% formaldehyde in PBS: Protect from light and store at 4
C.
