Lead readily passes the placental barrier and accumulates in fetal bone, with lesser
amount in liver, kidney, and intestine (Neathery and Miller 1975). Concentration of
Pb in animals (Table 24.5) is various, depending on environment, tissue species, and
age (Rudy 2009).
