MAINTENANCEPLANNED
WELL
IN ADVANCE
Many months before the first wind-generated power flowed
into the grid, the experts from the indépendant service provider,
Deutsche Windtechnik AG, were already working on the technical supervision of the Butendiek offshore wind farm. The term
of their comprehensive maintenance contract for the Butendiek
transformer substation around 32 kilométrés from the coast of
Sylt began on June 1, 2014 The agreement includes the inspection and monitoring of the entire structure as well as the répétitive maintenance work.
But long before the installation of this mighty colossus, experts
from Deutsche Windtechnik, working closely with the operator,
OWP Butendiek GmbH & Go. KG, had carefully observed the construction of the transformer substation in the dockyard in Antwerp in order to gain a thorough understanding of the entire
structure "inside out". Armed with this knowledge, Deutsche
Windtechnik then developed its maintenance and servicing
concept in as much detail as possible as, at the end of the day,
this concept is intended to give fast answers to any operational
malfunctions.
