Meteorological Conditions During Snowfall at Terra Nova Bay (Antarctica)

synoptic situations described by different authors, it was found that marked eastsoutherly winds are associated with pénétrations far into the continent of warm
moist air masses.
To check the reliability of the proposed methodology, the meteorological observations provided by the Weather Office at the Italian Antarctic Station were
considered, and the methodology was applied to a winter situation too.
Understanding the précipitation distribution over Victoria Land and its temporal
changes is especially important in order to improve the intense monitoring and
research activity. It is désirable that, in future, quantitative analyses of snowfall
over Terra Nova Bay area will be possible.
