culture is made from each colony type. The tubes are incubated overnight
at 37°C.
On the second day, the colonies are thoroughly mixed. Then, 9 ml
diameter plates are flooded, excess fluid taken off, and the plates dried at
37°C for 10-15 min with the lids off.
The RTD bacteriophage preparations are applied with, for example,
the semi-automatic phage applicator of Lidwell (1959) (Fig. 2).
