APPENDIX B
The Literature of Electron Microscopy
Bibliographies
The NYSEM International Bibliography of Electron Microscopy. This
was published quarterly in "key-sort" card form from 1950 to 1961 by
the New York Society of Electron Microscopists. Unfortunately
this
service has ceased with the final printing of two summarizing volumes,
presently available through the Rockefeller Institute, York Avenue and
67th St., New York 21, N.Y.
Bulletin Signaletique, Section 6, Centre de Documentation du Centre
National de la Recherche Scientifique, 15 quai Anatole-France, Paris
(7
e ). Section 6 of this French abstracting journal has dealt traditionally
with the structure of matter, and so has included physical and chemical
aspects and applications of electron microscopy. With the termination
of the NYSEM Bibliography it is said they will extend their service to
include biological and medical papers. This effort was only slowly getting
underway in 1963, so that surely there will be a hiatus in pertinent bibliographic cataloging.
Marton, C, Sass, S., Swerdlow, M., VanBronkhorst, A., and Meryman,
H., 1950, Bibliography of Electron Microscopy. Natl. Bur. Standards, Circ.
502, U. S. Govt. Print. Off., Washington, D. C.
Rhodin, J. A. G. (1963). "An Atlas of Ultrastructure," W. B. Saunders
Co., Philadelphia. Includes classified references to 1590 titles in the field
of vertebrate histology through 1962.
Wischnitzer, S. (1962). "Introduction to Electron Microscopy." Pergamon Press, New York. Includes an extensive bibliography through
1960, classified according to topics.
Published Records of International Meetings
1949
Proceedings of the Conference on Electron Microscopy, Delft. Published in 1950 by Hoogland, Delft, and sold through M. Nijhoff, The
Hague.
