I t IS cleitr that much work still has to be done. More data than those
prcsentcd here are about to be processed and interpreted. New experiments
have hcen prepared, and will be performed during the next few months. The
luture cxperimentiil program is related, not only to the basic physical aspects
of air sea interaction which have been described above, but also to other
problems, such as wave propagation in the lower maritime atmosphere and
the important gaseous exchanges that occur across the air-sea interface, that
can be usefully investigated by means of the facilities which are now
available.
Since the very beginning of our activities, it has been recognized that the
capabilities of the I.M.S.T. air-sea interaction simulation facility should not
be used solely by any one scientific group. Consequently, cooperation with
other groups has been encouraged. Cooperative efforts, some results of
which have been reported above, have already proven to be most fruitful and
will be actively pursued in the future.
ACKNOWLEIXMENTS
I - h i h research prograni has heneficed Iron1 the help and cooperatioii of many individuals and

Research Grant. The scientific and technical team in charge of the program included a number
of rescarch workers, doctoral students and technicians all of whose names have not heen cited
in this paper. Ilere. we shall mention specially: P. Bonmarin. D. Leducq. B. Pouchain. B.
Lhomme, B. Marmottant, G . Pcri, J. Quawia. F. Laugier. P. Chamhaud, M. Bourguel. A.
Laurence, B. Zucchini, R. Vaudo. Their active and efiien( cooperation has been vital to the
progress of the project and to the scientific results achieved to date.
