Abstract :
The purpose of this work is to create a new approach to the evaluation of metallic contamination,
starting with the validation of two analytical methods once the IAEA then AFNOR NF X 31-147
by calculating the limit of detection (LOD ) and the Quantization Limits (LOQ) of the Agilent 7700x
ICP-MS equipment to choose the most reliable method. The method that has been chosen, will be
used for the analysis of marine sediments that were previously collected. The second part of this
work deals with the evaluation of metallic contamination by calculating the geoaccumulation index
(Igeo), the sediment pollution index (IPS), the contamination factor (FC), the degree of
contamination ( DC), the Pollution Load Index (PLI). Correlations between metals and particulate
organic matter were studied using principal component analysis (PCA). All the results were coupled
to the mapping using IDW on ArcGis 10.2 software for good visualizing the spatial distribution of
metallic pollutants in marine sediments. To introduce them into the modeling software DHI.Mike21
