The current review study focuses on a statistical analysis (Meta-analysis) of the most common methods, materials, software, and indices used by researchers over the last twenty years to evaluate and quantify the shoreline evolution. Furthermore, this review targets to highlight some critical points through studied literature such as a) the low rate of high-resolution satellite images usage in a subject where the accuracy is prerequisite, b) the effort to derive information from Landsat images in order to take advantage of the 50-years archive and the freely availability c) the impulse of the UAV during the last 5 years as an alternative low cost but high accurate source of data d) the fact that only 50% of the coastal erosion studies are funded. One hundred thirty-eight papers and articles have been analyzed in detail by the authors and all the key points (methods, materials, software, and indices) were sorted for further statistical analysis. This study is not intended to criticize neither the methods nor the results being mentioned in the previous studies but to give the opportunity to the researchers (especially the new ones) to have an overall view of the subject for the last 20 years with just a glimpse.

The occurrence of the portunid Callinectes sapidus is documented for the first time from Libyan waters. The record fills a gap of knowledge concerning the distribution of this non-indigenous crab of Atlantic origin, that currently has invaded almost all the Mediterranean basin. Recent records of the Lessepsian crab Portunus segnis, already known from Libyan waters, ascertain furthermore its establishment within and its range expansion along the coastline of the country

The diversity of marine biomasses is a set of exploitable and renewable resources with application in several sectors. The blue crab was considered as a threat by the Tunisian fishermen in 2014, since it induces several damages on nets but also on captures. In addition, in 2017, the Tunisian State launched a plan to exploit and promote this species of crab. In the context of valuation, the chitin was isolated by a conventional chemical method from the shell of blue crabs. The efficiency of chitin extraction from Callinectes sapidus (C. sapidus) was achieved with a yield of 27.6 %.Then; the chitosan was prepared by N-deacetylation of chitin with a yield of 16 %, leading to a degree of acetylation (DA) of 89.9%. For Portunus segnis (P. segnis) the yield of chitin was 31.2% while the chitosan yield was 20% and the degree of acetylation was 79.9% After these analyzes, it can be deduced that chitosan has a high degree of purity and that it is considered effective for the preservation of strawberries in favor of its antioxidant and antimicrobial capacity.
